ABOUT THIS ORIXÁ
The Mother of the Sea Water is the most popular female deity in Brazil. Protector of the fishermen, she makes their return safe after a day of work.
In Salvador it is celebrated in the official calendar of festivities. The big party will take place on February 2, on the beach of the Rio Vermelho. Yemanjá is syncretized with nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceição.
